Who is Dani Zink?

Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, Dani was trained with high technicality at the prestigious Debra McCulloch Dance Academy in all genres; acrobatics, classical ballet, contemporary, demi-character, jazz, lyrical, national, neo classical, song & dance and tap.

She excelled in examinations (RAD and CSTD) and achieved her Full CSTD Teachers Diploma’s in the syllabi of Theatrical, Modern Jazz and Tap. Dani has been awarded many CSTD examination and public awards such as the Martin Rubenstein Classical Award, the Premier Danseur Award, the Gold Star Tap Award and the Blue Sash Theatrical Award to name a few.

She competed in state and interstate competitions growing up and notes her most memorable moments as receiving the Senior Dancer of the Festival 2006 at April Showtime Competition awarded by Peta McKenney, the Classical Scholarship at Mandurah Performing Arts Festival in 2006, the CSTD Intermediate Classical Award 2007 awarded by Carol Harris and 3rd Place in the Norma Atkinson Open Modern Scholarship 2013 awarded by Natalie Bale.

Dani performed professionally not only locally in Perth but also internationally with X System International throughout the Asia Pacific Region. She performed as The Queen of Hearts in Alice In Wonderland in Jakarta, Love-A-Lot Bear in The Care Bears in Singapore and Red in Larva in Singapore. Not only did she perform in these stage shows, but she also choreographed and taught the dances alongside director, Kerry Ayre.

Between 2016 and 2019 she taught Summer School Intensives on behalf of CSTD in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia which led to her teaching privately at The Dance Stage in Malaysia, owned by Lovell Chia which continues annually.

Dani’s choreography has been awarded both highest results and notable commendations at multiple competitions. In 2022: DMIA Showtime Perth, the 24th Asia Pacific Dance Competition and the 9th CSTD Malaysia Dance Competition. In 2023: the 25th Asia Pacific Dance Competition and the 10th CSTD Malaysia Dance Competition. In 2024 at the 11th CSTD Malaysia Dance Competition 3 of her solo routines were awarded “Best Solo Award”. In 2025 at the 12th Malaysia Dance Competition her lyrical ensemble was awarded “Best Ensemble 13 & Above”.

Dani obtained her Adjudication Certification from Karen Malek through Transit Dance and is currently a member of Australian Dance Adjudicators, Dance Arts Alliance and Ausdance WA. She is a strong voice of child safety and age appropriateness in the dance world.

She prides herself on being an unbiased and energetic adjudicator, personable with all performers and finds her passion in not only adjudicating, but educating teachers, choreographers and performers of all ages and abilities in the nuances of technique, genre specific choreography and age-appropriateness from studio to stage.
